If there’s anything that’s given me a mild case of anxiety, it’s the studio blog. I never know what to write because, well, I don’t want to read another tutorial about what to do with old Mason jars and neither do you.
As a professional writer, one of my favorite beats to cover is lifestyle. Home design and décor, with a little bit of do-it-yourself thrown in for good measure. That’s my plan for here in 2013. I’m aiming for one post every week instead of my usual charmingly infrequent way of doing things. It’ll happen on Saturdays because, let’s face it, that’s the best day of the week.
I plan to draw inspiration from my Pinterest boards and write about things that I’ve been curious about like how to upholster or the meaning of “New Traditional” or “Eclectic Collector”. I’ll take a look at rooms of all kinds and how to live in them. I’ll highlight a useful project each month, before-and-after basics, plus favorite things that I’m in love with like trends, books, and other creatives. You’ll probably see a #PinterestFail or two because everyone needs a good laugh now and then.
Jake the Cat fans will be able to read his monthly guest post telling all about studio happenings. He’s very excited about this since he’s been hard at work learning how to type with those furry little paws.
